Philanthropy
Alpha PhiAlpha Phi is the first sorority to form its own Foundation. Since 1946, Alpha Phi has focused on heart disease and cardiac care as a philanthropic priority. In 1956, the Alpha Phi Foundation was formed and has made women’s cardiac care a priority in the lives of many young women. Today, research into the diagnosis and treatment of women's heart disease is still the primary interest of the Alpha Phi Foundation.
The Gamma Eta chapter is proud to support the Foundation by raising funds through our annual Red Dress Gala. Additionally, we hold a Cardiac Care Week on campus raising awareness about cardiac health. In the fall at the Alpha Phi house we hold our annual Pancake Phi’st. The UNT student body is invited to visit the house to enjoy unlimited pancakes to raise money for the Alpha Phi Foundation.
Our chapter also recognizes the responsibility and importance of contributing to the community and to other campus organizations’ philanthropies. As a chapter we participate in service projects throughout the year such as WFAA’s Santa’s Helpers and Habitat for Humanity.
